How does sports massage work?

Sports massage including a wide variety of techniques that not all other disciplines use, including both superficial and deep tissue techniques. The combination of techniques works to counter the effects of a demanding modern life such as poor posture from being sat at a desk all day, aggressive or ballistic exercise, high impact exercise or assist in the recovery and repair of soft tissue injuries. Many of these issues present after several weeks, months or years, and the treatment for them can be ongoing. Sometimes sports massage on its own is enough, other times it can be an effective supplement to other therapies too.

In some cases you may find that only a few treatments are sufficient to help you achieve your recovery goal, in others it may take many treatments.
