What’s the difference between personal training and fitness coaching?
Personal training has a large focus on 1-1 training, prescribing an exercise regime and supporting you on a personal and fitness level to work towards a specific goal. This isn’t always the first choice for everyone and is often considered a luxury as at many gyms it will cost extra. Fitness coaching is an inclusive service to at these gyms where you are placed in a group setting but still with a fitness professional who will guide the group through a short session of structure exercise. This means it is more generalised and focusses on the group working together to achieve a greater feeling of confidence, motivation and sustainability.
Fitness coaching typically utilises simpler or easier movements but often at a faster pace. There are also different levels to this. Often you will find beginner’s classes, intermediate and advanced, each one being a bit harder or more complex. However the goal remains the same, everyone works hard, works together and has fun!
